David Kerstein

David attended Northern Illinois University where he was a graduate with Dean's List distinction. He went on to attend Northern Illinois University Law School where he was admitted to the Illinois Bar in 1979 and the United States District Court for Northern District of Illinois in 1980.  

Even prior to his law school graduation, David has had an extensive extern experience at the Cook County States Attorneys Office and the Cook County Planning & Development Commission.

After graduation from law school, David committed himself to being a public servant by working as the prosecutor at the Cook County States Attorneys office for seven years and gained extensive experience in all aspects of criminal defense, having been assigned to Juvenile Court, First Municipal Division, Felony Preliminary Hearing, Night Narcotics Division, and working his way up to the Felony Trial Division at 26th & California.

After leaving the Cook County States Attorneys Office, David worked for the Chicago Transit Authority as their staff attorney concentrating on tort and civil defense work for many years.  

In 1993, David established a Law Office of David Kerstein  where he concentrates in the defense of all criminal and traffic-related matter as well as Secretary of State license reinstatement hearings. David is a member of the Chicago Bar Association, the Illinois Bar Association and is very active in Jewish Community in the northshore suburbs of Chicago.  David currently resides in Northbrook with his wife, Marlene and two children.
